This Comp Vest is Best For:

  • Performance Riders: Horizontal Flex Zones and large arm openings deliver full mobility for spins, grabs, and aggressive cuts behind the boat.
  • Style-Driven Shredders: Lightweight, water-repellent materials keep the vest dry and flexible, giving a sleek, comfortable fit for every set.
  • Eco-Conscious Riders: Made with Organiprene neoprene and Gaia Foam, both sustainable materials that feel soft while reducing environmental impact.
  • Weekend Warriors: Front zip entry and zipper guards make it easy to slip on and off while staying secure and comfortable all day long.

The Hyperlite Vert Comp Wake Vest is built for riders who demand unrestricted movement and impact protection without the bulk of a traditional life jacket. Crafted from eco-friendly Organiprene and cushioned with Gaia Foam, it delivers that signature marshmallow-soft feel while staying lightweight and quick-drying. Horizontal Flex Zones and water-repellent construction keep it responsive, dry, and performance-ready from the first cut to the last. Designed for serious wakeboarders, the Vert Comp Vest combines innovation, comfort, and style in true Hyperlite fashion.

FAQ

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A COMP AND A CGA VEST?

A CGA vest is a U.S. Coast Guard–approved life jacket designed to provide maximum flotation and meet legal safety requirements on most public waterways. It is thicker and more buoyant to help keep you afloat in an emergency. A comp vest (competition vest) is not Coast Guard approved. It is thinner, lighter, and more flexible for better mobility, but it does not meet legal life jacket requirements on most public lakes and rivers.

How do I know it fits?

If it zips, it fits. Comp vests are designed to fit snug, so if you can zip it up, it’s the right size. They will loosen slightly once they get wet, which is why we recommend starting with a tight fit.

Who should wear a comp vest?

Comp vests are best suited for experienced riders who are confident in the water and prioritize mobility and comfort while riding. They are commonly worn by advanced wakeboarders, wakesurfers, and cable park riders who want a slimmer fit and greater freedom of movement. Comp vests are not recommended for beginners, children, or anyone riding in situations where a Coast Guard–approved life jacket is required.
